We have all seen the recent drama surrounding Victor Cruz being called out in a mass group message including his side chicks by his fiancee Elaina Watley, right? Cruz was suspected to have been sleeping up to 200+ groupies. Here is what Elaina allegedly said in the text message:
“Hello ladies, this is elaina Victor cruz’s fiancée,” the message begins. “You all know about me and I seem to be the topic of conversations with vic. I’m sure he’s told you many of things about us and how we don’t exist but given the fact that you all meet him in hotel rooms only, we all know that’s a lie, just as he tells me you all are whores and mean nothing to him.”
There has been a great debate across all of the blogs, Twitter, and radio shows as to whether Elaina played herself by messaging the “other” women. Some have argued that she was well within her rights as the mother of his daughter and as his fiancee to have done such a thing. Then there are some that say that her actions could be deemed as childish and petty. The funny part is that everyone acts shocked to see this in the news as if we haven’t heard of similar stories like this one on Jerry Springer or from one of our messy Facebook friends weekly rants about her no good man.
Elaina is missing the bigger issue but because of the day and that we are in I know why she is avoiding this very issue. Elaina is in a relationship engaged to be married to Victor Cruz, not the 200+ women that he suspected to have smashed. She is the mother of a 3 year old child that they share together. If she took a moment to sit back and to think about the lack of loyalty from the one person she should’ve been able to count on to not be disloyal is Victor Cruz.
So often as women we react first and think later. To often we attack the side chicks barely holding our men whom we gave our trust to accountable for their blatant disloyalty. Seeing how it is a “thing” to have snagged a baller this could be the reason or the justifying reason in Elaina’s mind to divert her anger from Cruz and direct it to the random hotel bed ornaments that he dealt with. The side chicks wouldn’t even be a factor if Victor had not given them some access into his world in the first place, right?
Maybe Elaina is afraid to lose the security she feels from being engaged to such a wealthy man. Shallow I know, right? But it is a reality that more and more women will swallow their pride and self-worth to stay in relationships that only offer financial security. Many may even argue that dating a man that has fame and money at his fingertips that the groupies are just something that comes with it. I think that is total bull but who am I, right? LOL.
Besides the obvious issue of womanizing that Victor needs to address, I have a different perspective for him to consider. He is a father and although his daughter is young, children do watch the relationship between their parents. Cruz should consider that with his daughter having any exposure to his unfaithfulness could be showing her that daddy not valuing mommy is ok, how could that affect her development as a young woman in the future? As women we learn how we should be treated not just from how our fathers treat us but also how we see our fathers treat our mothers.
The both of them need to do better. It’s messy. It’s petty but hey that has been the theme of 2015 anyway, so…? LOL.
Do you feel that Elaina was justified in her actions? Or do you feel that it was childish?
