I am Black. I am a Black millennial. I am a Black millennial woman. I am all of these things living in a country, in a world that strategically takes shot at these elements of who I am figuratively and literally every single day of my life. There are many who see me as a threat and that’s cool of whatever (Cardi B voice)Ā but you better believe that I am cut from a cloth that let’s me take each lickin’ and keep on ticking’ boo boo!

I got GOT y’all! A scammer got me. ME! Can you believe it? Me, a woman born and raised in the westside of Chicago was scammed. Dating in today’s world comes with the cheaters, undercover brothers and male thots who believe that they can slither their way through a group of friends being undetected but thats to be expected in 2017.

This Is The Year of Me

Earlier in the year, I declared this to be my year of me. A year whereĀ promised myself to explore. To grow. Learn. Heal. Remain single and to reach new goals. Typically there is a negative connotation of the idea of someone admitting that they are actively choosing to be selfish but for me it was absolutely imperative that I implemented this into my life.

The Size of The Ring DOES Matter

Many, many, many, many moons ago I myself gotĀ engaged (child, you can read more about dodging thatĀ bullet here). Growing upĀ I readĀ all of the grand fairly tales about the day that a man would get down on his knee confessing his love for me, placing a beautiful ring on my hand and would ask for my hand in marriage.
